Why donate to charity?

The world today is a divided place. Hunger, famine, disease and civil unrest are prevalent in many parts of the world. People die of diseases every day that could be easily cured or prevented with additional research. Meanwhile, the environment and global ecology are threatened by today's industrial practices and the world's heavy reliance on fossil fuels for energy. The state of the world we leave for our children tomorrow depends on how we live our lives today. 5% of every sale we generate can really add up to a lot and can really make a difference. We hope that this scheme encourages users who have already decided to purchase one of our recommended products anyway, to come back to our site and purchase it by following our links. And if this scheme starts to take off, then we hope to increase our donation in the near future to 10% of your sale price.

Which charity do you support?

With users from all over the world visiting this site, we thought it best initially to support a charity that tackle's global problems, and also one which would be relevant to most of our readers. We've therefore decided to donate a portion of your sales to the Global Music Project.

The Global Music Project is a non-profit making organization that help raise money through music-related events and then donates its proceeds to the following charities: Unicef; Amnesty International; Tolerance; MercyCorps; World Wildlife Fund; Doctors Without Borders (Medicins Sans Frontieres); and the Sierra Club. While the WWF are known foremost for their success in protecting endangered species and preserving wild places, they also dedicate themselves to addressing the global challenges that have the potential to impact our living planet: climate change; deteriorating ocean health; toxic chemicals; an unchecked wildlife trade; deforestation - any of these, if ignored, could have dire consequences for life on Earth. But if we work together to manage these challenges, our efforts can produce positive results that will spread throughout the web of life.
